VPBank warns of phishing scams targeting credit card reward points

VPBank issued an urgent warning to its customers that fraudsters are impersonating the bank in SMS and email messages. The messages claim that credit‑card reward points are about to expire and invite recipients to click a link to redeem gifts or cash‑back. When the link is followed, victims are prompted to enter security information such as OTPs, passwords, PINs or CVV codes, allowing the scammers to take control of accounts and conduct fraudulent transactions.

The bank advises customers not to click unknown links, not to share OTPs or any banking credentials, and not to provide personal documents to anyone claiming to be a police officer, court official, bank staff or other authority. VPBank also recommends checking reward balances through the VPBank NEO app or the official LynkiD app, adjusting transaction limits, and disabling online card payments when not needed. Customers who suspect fraud are instructed to contact a VPBank branch or the customer‑care hotline immediately.
