Vpop stars My Tam and Dong Nhi highlight conservatory success

Vietnamese pop stars My Tam and Dong Nhi, both alumni of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, continue to demonstrate significant influence within the Vpop industry.

My Tam recently announced that 10,000 early bird tickets for the second day of her ‘See The Light’ concert sold out within five minutes of being released. The concert is scheduled to take place on November 21, 2026, at the Van Phuc Urban Area in Ho Chi Minh City, following a previous performance in Hanoi in late 2025. Ticket prices for the event range from 1.5 to 4.6 million VND. Special benefits for SVIP ticket holders include a soundcheck session with the artist.

Dong Nhi, born Mai Hong Ngoc, rose to prominence following her academic success as a runner-up in vocal studies at the conservatory. After an initial setback in a 2007 talent competition, she achieved widespread popularity between 2008 and 2010 with hits such as ‘Khoc’, establishing herself as a leading figure in the teen pop genre.
