Police in Vrancea, Romania, have opened a criminal investigation after video footage surfaced showing an 11-month-old infant behind the wheel of a car on a public road in the Slobozia Bradului commune.

The incident reportedly occurred on August 1. The footage was filmed by the child's 17-year-old mother, and a 15-year-old was also present in the vehicle. Authorities are investigating the incident as the offense of entrusting a vehicle to a person who does not possess a driver's license.

Due to the nature of the situation, the Vrancea Police have notified the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection to evaluate the children's living conditions and determine if protective measures are necessary.
