Vrancea seismic zone experiences magnitude 2.9 earthquake

A weak earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 occurred in the Vrancea seismic zone of Romania on Monday, September 14. The tremor was recorded at 13:08 local time at a depth of approximately 111 kilometers.

The National Institute for Earth Physics reported the epicenter was located near several cities, including 34 kilometers south of Focșani and 54 kilometers south of Buzău. Due to the depth and magnitude, the event was classified as a weak seismic activity.
