Vratsa hosts XIX National Youth Olympic Festival

The XIX National Youth Olympic Festival has officially opened in Vratsa, Bulgaria. Vesela Lecheva, President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, inaugurated the event, praising the organization and the city of Vratsa for hosting the festival.

More than 350 young athletes are participating in 10 different sports disciplines. The opening ceremony included a parade of participants, the lighting of the Olympic flame, and an official oath taken by young athletes, represented by long-time national record holder and coach Ivaylo Mladenov.

Lecheva noted that the festival aims to spread Olympic values among the younger generation and expressed the intention to hold the event in different cities across the country in subsequent years. The competition includes various disciplines, such as shooting, with participants from clubs across Bulgaria competing in Vratsa.
