Vratsa inspectors remove illegal parking markers

Municipal inspectors in Vratsa, Bulgaria, have launched an initiative to remove illegal objects used by drivers to reserve parking spaces on public roads and sidewalks. These makeshift markers include plastic tubs, tires, buckets, cones, and even an ice cream display cover.

While some residents express frustration over the lack of available parking near their homes, others support the enforcement action, arguing that these unauthorized markings are unfair to those who do not use them. Inspectors reported that in the past week alone, they have collected two vans worth of plastic tubs, dozens of cones, and various tires to ensure the streets remain clear. Similar enforcement has occurred in Sofia, where over 400 unauthorized anti-parking structures were removed in a single year.
