VRChat launches official world for anime ‘Cho Kaguya Hime!’

A new official virtual world based on the Netflix anime ‘Cho Kaguya Hime!’ has launched within the social VR platform VRChat. The world, titled ‘[Official] Virtual Space <Tsukuyomi> [Cho Kaguya Hime!]’, recreates the fictional setting from the series.

The project was made possible through a crowdfunding campaign that exceeded its goal by over 5,000%. The current version features a tutorial area where users can learn VRChat mechanics and participate in a mini-game involving trash collection to assist the character Yachiyo Tsukimi. A live event, ‘Tsukuyomi Thanksgiving ~Delicious Pancake Party~’, is scheduled for December 26.

In conjunction with the world launch, limited-edition collaboration items are available on the VRChat official store until October 25. These items include themed accessories such as rabbit ears and fox tails, as well as a gaming utility pole portal featured in the anime.
