Vrilissia: 14-year-old student hospitalized after brutal classmate assault
A 14-year-old student is in critical condition at a private hospital in the northern suburbs of Athens after being brutally assaulted by a classmate in Vrilissia. The victim suffered a ruptured kidney and faces the potential necessity of organ removal.
The incident occurred on a Friday evening near the intersection of Troias and Gordynias streets. Witnesses reported that the assailant targeted the victim, who was walking with a female friend, delivering repeated punches and kicks to the head, torso, and abdominal area. Some reports suggest the attack was motivated by personal disputes and verbal insults involving family members.
Police arrested the 14-year-old perpetrator and his mother, the latter being detained for alleged failure to supervise a minor. The assailant is scheduled to appear before a summary court to face charges. The victim remains under close medical supervision as doctors work to stabilize his condition.
