Brazil conducts nationwide multivacination mobilization events
Various municipalities across Brazil have conducted ‘Dia D’ mobilization events as part of a National Multivaccination Campaign to update immunization records for children, adolescents, and adults. The campaign, which runs through early September, aims to increase coverage for diseases such as influenza, measles, polio, and COVID-19.
In Paraná, the mobilization exceeded expectations, with over 110,000 doses administered across 390 municipalities. In Cuiabá, more than 12,000 doses were applied, while João Pessoa recorded over 14,000 applications. Other regions, including Nova Iguaçu, Sinop, Várzea Grande, and Diamantino, also reported significant turnout during their respective weekend actions.
Local health authorities emphasized that these weekend mobilizations facilitate access for families unable to visit clinics during standard working hours. In addition to routine vaccines, some locations offered expanded protection, such as the 20-valent pneumococcal vaccine, and integrated health services like consultations and nutritional assessments.
