Várzea Grande education secretary targets 100 school visits

Maria Fernanda Figueiredo, the Secretary of Education, Culture, Sport, and Leisure in Várzea Grande, has resumed a series of visits to municipal schools. Her goal is to visit all 100 units in the municipal education network by the end of September to monitor school conditions and engage with staff.

As part of these inspections, Figueiredo visited the EMEB Professora Maria Joana da Silva Almeida in the Unipark neighborhood to oversee renovation and expansion works. The school is expected to be delivered to the community by the end of this year. Starting in January 2027, the facility will transition to a full-time education model (ETI), extending the student school day from 7:00 to 17:00 and providing all necessary meals and pedagogical activities.
