Várzea Grande implements elderly support, job openings, and salary restructuring

The municipality of Várzea Grande is implementing several social and administrative initiatives. The “VG 60+ – Experiência que Transforma” project has been authorized to support the elderly population. With R$ 303,500.00 from the Municipal Fund for the Elderly, the six-month program will serve 200 residents, prioritizing those in vulnerable social situations through activities focused on culture, leisure, and citizenship.

In terms of employment, the local Sine office is offering 519 job vacancies, including 162 positions specifically for people with disabilities (PCD). Notable roles include lawyers and purchasing administrators, while the largest volume of openings is for production line assistants.

Administratively, Mayor Flávia Moretti addressed concerns regarding civil servant salaries, stating that the new Career, Position, and Salary Plans (PCCS) will be implemented gradually through 2027 and 2028 to ensure financial stability. Additionally, the Public Ministry of Mato Grosso is conducting mobile service sessions in the Asa Bela neighborhood to provide health, legal, and consumer protection assistance. In the rural sector, the local government provided soybean hulls to support small-scale cattle farmers during the dry season.
