Várzea Grande is implementing several municipal initiatives focused on infrastructure, public health, and social services. The city has launched a tax regularization program (Refis) offering up to 80% discounts on interest and fines for overdue taxes like IPTU and ISSQN, with options for negotiation via WhatsApp.

To address water supply issues, the state government has mobilized a task force. Governor Otaviano Pivetta reported that the reactivation of several wells has improved water access for approximately 15,000 households. Additionally, five municipal schools are receiving new artesian wells to ensure consistent water availability.

Social services are also being expanded through the Pop Rua Jud initiative, a collaborative effort between the judiciary and local health and social assistance secretariats to provide essential services and documentation assistance to people experiencing homelessness. Furthermore, the city has introduced a new Call Center at the Specialized Health Center (CES-VG) to allow residents to schedule medical appointments and exams remotely via WhatsApp, reducing the need for physical travel.
