Várzea Grande health unit vaccinates 450 students in Água Limpa school program

The Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS) in the Água Limpa neighborhood of Várzea Grande, Brazil, carried out a phase of the municipal "Saúde na Escola" initiative at the EMEB Emanuel Benedito de Arruda school. Health workers administered 450 doses of influenza and other delayed vaccines, focusing on children under six and teachers, all with written parental consent.

The campaign was conducted in partnership with the municipal Secretary of Education, Culture, Sports and Leisure. Nurse Lucimar Barbosa said the on‑site approach "expands vaccination coverage, updates records and prevents disease, especially during a period prone to respiratory infections." School director Marli de Jesus Arruda da Silva thanked Mayor Flávia Moretti and the health and education secretaries for supporting the effort, noting its importance for keeping students immunized and records current.
