Várzea Grande Highlights Tourism Potential at FIT Pantanal Fair

The city of Várzea Grande presented a prominent stand at the International Tourism Fair of the Pantanal (FIT Pantanal) in Cuiabá, drawing praise from state and municipal officials. Governor Otaviano Pivetta said the event helps municipalities “share ideas and showcase the riches that often go unnoticed,” while mayor Flávia Moretti emphasized the city’s role as the main gateway to Mato Grosso, citing its international airport and major highway junction. The stand attracted around 3,000 visitors on the first day and featured attractions such as the Rota do Peixe, traditional net‑weavers, local craft, and regional cuisine. Officials highlighted the boost to the local economy, job creation and the tripling of tourism partners, reinforcing Várzea Grande’s strategic position in the state’s tourism development.

The fair, running until Sunday, gathers exhibitors from across Brazil and abroad, and organizers expect thousands more visitors to explore Várzea Grande’s offerings throughout the event.
