Brazilian municipalities implement new budgets and urban plans

Various Brazilian municipalities are implementing new administrative, budgetary, and urban planning measures.

Várzea Grande has presented its 2027 Annual Budgetary Law (PLOA) project, estimating a budget of approximately R$ 2.3 billion. The administration is also restructuring its Multi-Year Plan (PPA) for 2027-2029 into 15 specific programs to improve management efficiency. Additionally, the city has moved forward with legislative projects to update Career and Salary Plans (PCCS) for healthcare professionals and urban maintenance workers, such as street sweepers.

Vila Velha has enacted a new Municipal Master Plan (PDM) to update land use and occupation rules, including zoning changes and height restrictions near protected areas. The city has also opened a public consultation for its 2027 budget, allowing residents to vote on strategic priorities.

In Cuiabá, local authorities are organizing community events focused on entrepreneurship and job placement, including service blitzes in neighborhoods like Paiaguás to assist with formalization and employment access. Meanwhile, Porto Velho is conducting large-scale urban cleaning operations across several districts through its 'Cidade Limpa' program, and Votuporanga has established specific deadlines for cemetery maintenance ahead of the All Souls' Day holiday.
