Várzea Grande man executed with eight gunshots

A 37-year-old man, identified as Marton da Silva Lisboa Junior, was executed with eight gunshots on a street in Várzea Grande, in the Metropolitan Region of Cuiabá, on Sunday morning.

The victim had a criminal history involving homicide, drug trafficking, robbery, and illegal possession of a firearm. According to police and witnesses, the victim attempted to flee from the shooter but was struck by multiple shots and fell in the middle of the street.

Emergency medical services (Samu) arrived at the scene but could only confirm the death on-site. The Specialized Homicide and Protection of the Person Police Station (DHPP) has taken over the investigation to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.
