Várzea Grande advances infrastructure and environmental projects
The municipal government of Várzea Grande is implementing several infrastructure and environmental initiatives. The city council approved a bill to establish the Bernardo Berneck Municipal Park, a move intended to protect local biodiversity, promote environmental education, and allow for sustainable public use of the area.
Infrastructure projects are progressing in the Paiaguás neighborhood, where drainage, paving, and water network installations have exceeded 70% completion. Mayor Flávia Moretti recently inspected the site, noting that the improvements in paving are already benefiting local residents and commerce by reducing dust and mud.
Additionally, maintenance efforts are underway on Avenida Tricolor in the Jardim Maringá region, involving cleaning, debris removal, and upcoming traffic signaling to improve safety. To address water needs, a new law has been enacted setting response times for water truck deliveries: up to six hours for regular residential requests and up to four hours for priority locations such as schools and health units.
