Várzea Grande municipal hospital staff receive training on mechanical ventilators
The Hospital and Emergency Care Center of Várzea Grande (HPSMVG) held a three‑day training program (April 14‑16) for its multidisciplinary team on the operation of Magnamed mechanical ventilators. Sessions were offered twice daily at 14:00 and 19:00 to accommodate staff from all shifts.
The courses were led by engineer Nelson, a representative of Medlab, the authorized distributor of the equipment. Participants, including physicians, nurses and physiotherapists, were taught to update their knowledge of ventilator functions, standardize procedures and improve patient safety for critically ill individuals.
Physiotherapist Karina Zucca praised the initiative, noting that deeper understanding of the machines enhances care quality. Subsecretary of Tertiary Care Ângela Sabóia highlighted permanent education as a management priority, while nursing superintendent Keila Figueiredo stressed that ongoing technical updates strengthen teamwork and confidence across the unit.
