Várzea Grande upgrades social, water, and school services while signing transparency pact with prosecutors

Around 60 municipal social‑assistance employees in Várzea Grande attended a training session on socio‑assistance benefits, aiming to improve service quality for the city’s 166,365 registered families. Secretary of Social Assistance Cristina Saito noted, “A situação de vulnerabilidade social é muito grande em nosso município,” emphasizing the need for better-informed staff.

The city's Water and Sewage Department (DAE‑VG) began a renovation of its commercial service unit to expand counters and improve accessibility. DAE‑VG president Rogerinho da Dakar said, “Estamos trabalhando para transformar o atendimento do DAE‑VG,” stressing a more comfortable and efficient public interface. In a separate modernization effort, the department installed new frequency inverters to control water pressure, reduce energy consumption, and increase operational efficiency.

During the school recess, the municipal education secretariat intensified cleaning and preventive maintenance across all municipal schools and early‑childhood centers, preparing the facilities for the new semester. Secretary of Education Maria Fernanda Figueiredo highlighted the strategic use of the break to ensure safer, cleaner learning environments.

The municipal health secretariat signed a Term of Adjusted Conduct (TAC) with the Mato Grosso State Public Prosecutor’s Office to regularize temporary hiring and ensure transparency in future selections. Health secretary Valéria Nogueira explained, “A gestão da prefeita Flávia Moretti tem como princípio atuar com total transparência, responsabilidade e respeito à legislação.” A similar TAC was signed for the education sector, committing the city to respect ranking orders in public job selections and to publish all hiring information.
