Várzea Grande expands community services and health care at Viva Seu Bairro event

The municipality of Várzea Grande held the second edition of the Viva Seu Bairro project on Saturday, 4 May, in the José Carlos Guimarães neighbourhood. Hundreds of residents accessed a range of municipal services in one location, including health check‑ups, vaccinations, blood‑pressure and glucose screenings, and consultations. The health team administered 24 vaccinations (40 doses), measured vital signs for 21 people and saw 17 patients. The Zoonoses Center vaccinated 63 animals against rabies. Other services offered by the Secretaries of Social Assistance, Water and Sewerage, Fiscal Management and Land Regularisation helped citizens settle tax issues, obtain water bills, update the CadÚnico register and resolve land‑title matters. Organisers noted that demand exceeded expectations, prompting an expansion of booths for future editions.
