Várzea Grande municipality's Refis 2026 tax program raises over R$13 million

The municipal tax recovery program Refis 2026 in Várzea Grande, Brazil, continues to accept payments that include up to an 80 % discount on fines and interest for lump‑sum settlements. Since its launch, 15,578 agreements have been formalised, covering R$30.49 million in outstanding taxes such as IPTU, business licences and service taxes. Of that amount, R$13.16 million has already been deposited into the city’s treasury.

Payments can be made in person at the taxpayer service centre in the city hall or at the Cristo Rei sub‑prefecture office, and virtual assistance is available via WhatsApp. The program also offers staggered instalment options: up to 12 instalments with a 60 % discount, up to 24 instalments with a 40 % discount, and up to 36 instalments with a 20 % discount for debts exceeding the municipal fiscal unit threshold.
