Várzea Grande police investigate professor's murder involving blackmail motive

Police in Várzea Grande are investigating the murder of 25-year-old professor Breno Antonio Humberto de Moraes. A 26-year-old locksmith, Elias Samuel Delgado da Silva, has confessed to participating in the crime and is currently in temporary custody.

According to Delegate Bruno Abreu of the DHPP, Silva claims the murder was planned alongside another individual to prevent the victim from revealing information regarding extramarital relationships. Silva alleged that the victim was blackmailing both him and another acquaintance. Silva stated that while he remained near the vehicle, two other accomplices took the victim to a wooded area where the body was eventually discovered.

Forensic analysis revealed that the victim suffered 13 stab wounds to the neck and genital region, with the cause of death determined to be hemorrhagic shock. Investigators are also examining whether there was a sexual component to the crime. While the suspect provided information that helped locate the body, the murder weapon has not yet been recovered, and authorities are working to identify the remaining suspects.
