Várzea Grande service provider detained for stealing electrical wires

A 24-year-old service provider was detained in Várzea Grande on Monday after being caught with a roll of electrical wires stolen from a construction materials store in the Cohab Nossa Senhora da Guia neighborhood.

The Municipal Guard responded to a report from the business owner, who noticed the individual removing material from the stock. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect nearby with a roll of black electrical wire, which the owner identified as belonging to the establishment.

According to reports from the owner and local residents, this was not an isolated incident. The owner noted a similar occurrence involving the same individual on the previous Friday, and community members claimed the suspect had been linked to other attempted thefts in the area, sometimes involving threats against those who tried to intervene.
