Várzea Grande student-athletes qualify for national championships
Várzea Grande held a ceremony at the Júlio Domingos de Campos Polysports Gymnasium to honor student-athletes from the VG Mais Esportes project. The event celebrated those who excelled in the Student Games and secured qualifications in state-level competitions.
Athletes and teams from the municipality have qualified to represent Mato Grosso in the Brazilian School Championship, which is set to take place in Brasília this November. Edmilson Piranha, the Superintendent of Sports for Várzea Grande, stated that approximately 380 children and adolescents are expected to represent the state in various disciplines, including judo, jiu-jitsu, capoeira, and futsal.
