Várzea Grande water supply disrupted after pipe rupture

On Sunday, 14 June, a rupture in the Captação 5 pipe of the ETA Imigrantes forced the water department of Várzea Grande to halt supply to more than 20 neighborhoods, including 15 de Maio, Milton Figueiredo, and Portal dos Imigrantes. The DAE/VG mobilised technical crews immediately to carry out repairs and projected that the work would be finished by the afternoon of Monday, 15 June.

During the outage residents were advised to use water sparingly and essential activities only, while the authority deployed water‑truck units to the affected areas to mitigate shortages.
