VS Pharmtech secures Silicon Valley hubs for US expansion

VS Pharmtech, a South Korean biotech company developing drugs to enhance radiation therapy, has secured two strategic bases in the United States. The company was selected for Maru SF, a Silicon Valley hub established by the Asan Nanum Foundation in San Mateo, and Bakar Labs, a biotech incubator operated by UC Berkeley.

Through these locations, VS Pharmtech aims to expand its network with local investors, pharmaceutical companies, and research experts. The company plans to utilize Bakar Labs to seek joint research and technology transfer opportunities with global pharmaceutical firms.

VS Pharmtech’s core candidate, VS-101, is an oral medication designed to amplify the effects of radiation therapy. The company recently completed a Phase 1 multi-center clinical trial for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Results showed no dose-limiting toxicities or serious adverse reactions, with tumor disappearance observed in all participating patients.

Following the establishment of a US subsidiary, the company is currently seeking investment for US clinical development, with a goal of a KOSDAQ listing by 2027 based on technology transfer achievements.
