VssID app allows parents to integrate children's health insurance

Parents and guardians in Vietnam can integrate their children's health insurance card information into the VssID digital social security application. To do this, users must register an electronic transaction account for the child through their own VssID account.

The registration process involves logging into the VssID app, selecting “Public Services,” and choosing “Register an account for a child.” Users must provide the child's social insurance number and full name, which can be done manually or via QR code scanning. The process also requires uploading a portrait photo and a photo of the child's birth certificate. Once the application is submitted and approved by the social insurance agency, the child's insurance information will be managed and viewable within the parent's app.

Using the digital health insurance card image on VssID for medical examination and treatment has been implemented by Vietnam Social Security since 2021, serving as a digital alternative to physical cards.
