Västervik speedway team clinches GP qualification and prepares for postponed derby
Robert Lambert of Västervik won the SGP Challenge in Italy, securing a place in next year's Speedway Grand Prix series. Fellow Västervik rider Kim Nilsson earned his first regular GP slot since 2023 after a recent Swedish championship win, finishing fourth in the same event. The team also qualified Rohan Tungate for a permanent GP berth.
Meanwhile, a postponed league match between Västervik and Vargarna, originally set for 16 June, will be contested after a rain‑delay. Vargarna replaced the injured Wiktor Przyjemski with Tim Sörensen and a substitute for Frederik Jakobsen. Västervik will field riders for the first time this season, with Mads Hansen sidelined by injury, and aim to add points after an earlier 29‑19 win in a truncated heat meeting.
