Västlänken construction sites inspected by Swedish authorities

Swedish authorities have conducted a joint inspection of 16 companies operating at construction sites for the Västlänken project in Gothenburg. The operation involved five agencies: Arbetsmiljöverket, the Swedish Police, Skatteverket, Försäkringskassan, and Migrationsverket.

The inspections, carried out across four different construction sites, aimed to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and labor regulations. During the process, officials identified indications of deficiencies regarding posting rules. Foreign companies operating in Sweden are required to register workers in the posting register to ensure fair competition and proper working conditions.

Following further investigation, these identified deficiencies may result in two administrative sanctions. The operation is part of a broader coordinated effort involving nine agencies to combat organized crime within the labor market.
