Västra Götaland offers free vaccinations for unprotected adults

The Västra Götaland region in Sweden is offering free vaccinations to adults who lack sufficient protection against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, or pertussis. The initiative aims to strengthen immunity against diseases that cause serious complications and to reduce community transmission.

Since April 2024, the offer has been available to individuals who, following a medical assessment, are deemed to have inadequate protection. This includes residents of Västra Götaland, asylum seekers, and other newly arrived groups, regardless of age. While children under 18 are already covered by the national vaccination program, this measure specifically targets adults who may have missed doses or have uncertain immunity.
