VTC platforms raise driver income guarantee to 32 euros
Major ride-hailing platforms operating in France, including Uber and members of the Fédération française du transport de personnes sur réservation—such as Bolt, Freenow, Heetch, and LeCab—have announced a temporary increase in the minimum hourly income guarantee for drivers.
Effective for October and November 2026, the guaranteed threshold will rise from 30 euros to 32 euros per hour of activity. This measure is intended to mitigate the impact of high fuel costs, as diesel and gasoline prices remain elevated. The platforms estimate that this adjustment could double the number of drivers eligible for the compensatory payment.
The guarantee is calculated monthly based on activity hours and is designed to supplement earnings when they fall below the threshold after platform commissions are deducted. However, the measure has faced criticism from some driver representatives who view the two-month duration as too limited.
