The organizers of La Vuelta a España have implemented restrictions on content creator Erola Jons following widespread backlash over her interactions with professional cyclists. Jons, hired by Unipublic to engage younger audiences via social media, drew intense criticism for her behavior during the race's opening stage in Monaco.

Specifically, her interactions with race leader Tadej Pogačar—which included calling him “Pogachitar” and asking why he was “hyperventilating” when seeing her—were labeled as disrespectful and unprofessional by journalists and cycling experts. Further controversy arose from comments made toward cyclist Josh Tarling during a sensitive period following a family bereavement.

In response to complaints from teams and media professionals, La Vuelta has restricted Jons' access. While she remains part of the official digital coverage, she is no longer permitted direct contact with riders or access to restricted areas such as podium preparation zones and changing areas. Her role will now focus on interacting with the public and fans in designated areas. The organization clarified that her position is intended for entertainment and social media engagement rather than traditional sports journalism.
