Vučić emphasizes economic growth at Belgrade Economic Talks

At the Belgrade Economic Talks (BELTALKS) conference, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić emphasized the necessity of focusing on economic growth rather than conflict. He noted that Serbia achieved a 3.5 percent growth rate in the first half of the year, which he described as the top result in Europe, though he expressed dissatisfaction with the current investment climate.

Vučić highlighted the challenges of economic planning caused by global instability, specifically citing the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as rising energy prices. He also criticized the increasing use of trade barriers, tariffs, and customs by various nations to protect domestic industries, creating an uncertain global market.

The WMG Foundation, a general partner of the conference, also utilized the event to highlight its commitment to Serbia’s European integration. Irena Petrović, director of the WMG Foundation, announced a new project aimed at making the European integration process more accessible and understandable to citizens through informed dialogue.
