Vuk Iković calls for revoking Primato P permit amid Zeta river pollution

Biologist and citizen‑group member Vuk Iković has asked Montenegro's Ministry of Spatial Planning to cancel the building permit granted to meat‑processing company Primato P. He argues the permit was issued on the basis of an ecological permit that the Ministry of Ecology revoked two months earlier after finding the firm was polluting the Zeta River.

Iković warned that if the construction permit is not withdrawn by 3 August, he will bring the case before Montenegro's Administrative Court. He stressed that European Union funds should not subsidise environmental damage, noting that Primato P previously received €1.2 million in IPARD investments, including more than €600 000 in EU grants, and is now seeking roughly €1 million from a new €2 million investment cycle.

The activist said profit must not come at the expense of public health and the environment, announced a continued boycott of Primato P and its Voli – Naše farme products, and called for a protest in front of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management to demand that EU money be directed toward sustainable development instead of pollution remediation.
