Vuk Vuković arrested in U.S. for suspected securities and wire fraud

Vuk Vuković, the founder of Oraclum Capital LLC and CEO of the ORCA BASON Fund, has been arrested in the United States on suspicion of securities fraud and wire fraud. U.S. authorities, including the Department of Justice, allege that Vuković engaged in a scheme to attract investors by providing falsified monthly reports and brokerage statements that significantly overstated the fund's returns and net asset value.

Specific discrepancies cited by investigators include a 2023 report showing a 19.05 percent return and nearly $5 million in assets, while actual records indicated a 22.46 percent loss and $2.71 million in assets. In June 2025, another report allegedly showed a 38.44 percent return and $18.45 million in assets, compared to actual figures of 16.39 percent and $12.77 million. Following an investigation, Vuković reportedly admitted to investigators that certain brokerage reports sent to a potential investor were not truthful.

The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) had previously identified irregularities regarding the fund's distribution in Croatia. In July 2025, Hanfa issued a decision prohibiting unauthorized investment services and the holding of investor funds related to the ORCA BASON Fund. Oraclum Capital LLC was also ordered to cease trading and promotion within Croatia. Vuković faces up to 20 years in prison for each count of fraud.
