Regional health initiatives focus on preventive care and palliative support

Various health institutions across the Balkans are conducting public awareness campaigns and preventive medical activities.

In Bijeljina, the Sveti Vračevi Hospital organized screenings for over 60 retirees to detect kidney cancer, emphasizing that early detection via ultrasound is vital as the disease is often asymptomatic. In Sremska Mitrovica, the health center held lectures at Cooper Standard regarding cardiovascular health and the importance of managing lifestyle risk factors. In Požega, public health institutes are organizing events for World Heart Day to promote healthy habits.

Efforts regarding palliative care are also underway. In the Vukovar-Srijem County, the Vukovar Health Center is organizing events to highlight the importance of palliative care for patients with incurable diseases and their families. Similarly, in Međimurje, a week-long program focused on pain management and social support is scheduled. In Sinj, a forum was held to address the mental and physical health of Croatian veterans and their families.
