Vukovar-Srijem County hosts Sunflower Award rural tourism evaluations

The evaluation committee for the national ‘Sunflower Award for Croatian Rural Tourism’ conducted an extensive field tour across the Vukovar-Srijem County. Organized by the Croatian Association for Tourism and Rural Development ‘Klub članova Selo’, the commission assessed various projects across multiple categories.

Evaluations included cultural and historical manifestations such as ‘Pokladno jahanje’ in Babina Greda and ‘Rimski dani’ in Vinkovci. Outdoor and active tourism events were reviewed, including ‘Koncert u žitu’ in Županja and ‘U mirisu lavande’ in Bogdanovci. The committee also inspected innovative identity projects like ‘Skrivenim stazama Spačve’ in Bošnjaci and craft tourism at the Prunus Aurelia distillery in Vinkovci.

Other assessments focused on rural households and gastronomy, including the Weinrauch holiday home in Ilok, the Granarium facility, and the ‘Stari toranj’ restaurant in Vukovar. The tour also covered traditional products through the ‘Ljubenica Fest – Ilača’ in Tovarnik and the Mandić family farm in Drenovci.
