Vukovar-Srijem County launches first mobile medical clinic

The first of three planned mobile medical clinics has begun operations in the settlement of Sotin, within Croatia's Vukovar-Srijem County. The initiative aims to provide primary healthcare to rural and hard-to-reach areas that currently lack organized family medicine services.

The mobile unit is scheduled to visit Berak, Svinjarevce, Lipovača, Sotin, and Mohovo. Previously, residents in these locations were required to travel to Vukovar to access medical services. The clinic is equipped to perform patient examinations, provide medical assistance, prescribe therapies, and conduct further diagnostic tests using tools such as blood pressure monitors, ECG machines, automated defibrillators, and oxygen.

Zrinka Čobanković, director of the Vukovar-Srijem County Health Center, stated that two additional mobile units are being prepared and will soon be operational. These upcoming vehicles will cover areas including Antin, Ćelije, and Ostrovo. The program is being organized in cooperation with local self-government units, which provide the necessary infrastructure and shelter for patients during inclement weather.
