Vukovar stadium construction initiative appeals for national solidarity

An initiative has been launched to support the construction of a new football stadium in Vukovar, located in the Borovo settlement. The Association of Croatian Homeland War Veterans '91 (UHBDR'91) has issued an official appeal to all local and regional government units in Croatia to contribute funds to the project through a solidarity model.

The association cited the example of the Škabrnja Municipality, which contributed funds despite limited budget capabilities. The proposed stadium is intended to provide modern facilities for local football clubs and serve as a development hub for youth in the region. Once completed, the facility is expected to feature over 4,700 covered seats, and there is a proposal to host the Croatian national football team for its opening match.
