Vulcan Energy increases liquidity and institutional backing

Vulcan Energy Resources is experiencing significant institutional and leadership developments as it advances its Lionheart lithium-geothermal project located near the German-French border. Citigroup has increased its stake in the company to 4.19 percent, comprising 3.46 percent in direct holdings and 0.73 percent via cash-settled swaps.

On the leadership front, Amanda Lacaze has been appointed as an independent, non-executive director and member of the Audit, Risk, and ESG committees. Additionally, Director Cristobal Moreno recently engaged in an insider purchase of company shares.

Financially, the company reported a consolidated cash position of 273.9 million euros in its preliminary annual report for the period ending June 30, 2026. These funds are intended to support the construction phase of the Lionheart project. While the company expects to begin drawing from a 2.2 billion euro debt financing package in the first quarter of 2027, current liquidity is being used to manage ongoing development costs, which included 92 million euros for the quarter ending June.
