Vung Tau waterspouts appear consecutively off the coast
Two waterspouts appeared consecutively in the waters of Vung Tau on the morning of September 25. The first large, funnel-shaped waterspout formed near the Hon Ba area at Bai Sau and lasted for more than 30 minutes before dissipating. Shortly after, a second, smaller waterspout appeared in the same vicinity.
No damage to property or loss of life was reported, as there was minimal maritime activity in the area at the time. This marks the second occurrence of such weather phenomena in Vung Tau within a week, following a large waterspout observed on September 20.
Meteorologists state that waterspouts typically form during strong thunderstorms and are common during seasonal transitions or when tropical convergence zones and low-pressure troughs combine with high ocean moisture. Authorities advise fishermen and sailors to remain vigilant and avoid areas with heavy storm clouds.
