VUNO enters Chinese market with medical AI distribution deals

Medical AI company VUNO has announced its entry into the Chinese market through two distinct strategic tracks. The company has signed a two-year exclusive distribution agreement with Guorun, a Chinese medical specialist firm, for its cardiac arrest prediction device, VUNO Med®-DeepCARS, in Hainan Province.

VUNO plans to utilize the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, a special zone that allows for the early use of approved foreign medical devices before formal mainland China registration. The company aims to complete registration within six months to begin proof-of-concept (PoC) testing in major hospitals within the zone.

Simultaneously, VUNO is pursuing a second track in Jiangsu Province by collaborating with BioVision. This partnership involves integrating VUNO Med-Fundus AI, a device that analyzes retinal images to detect 12 types of abnormalities, into BioVision’s chronic disease management platform. This approach targets primary healthcare facilities where access to ophthalmologists may be limited.
