Vushtrri installs countdown clock for KLA leaders' verdict

The platform ‘Liria ka Emër’ has installed a ‘Waiting Clock’ in Adem Jashari Square in Vushtrri. The digital screen features a countdown to September 16, the date when a final decision is expected regarding former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) currently on trial in The Hague.

Vushtrri Mayor Ferit Idrizi described the installation as a significant moment, stating that the square will serve as the site to celebrate the return of the former leaders. The individuals awaiting the verdict include Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi. Idrizi characterized the six-year period of detention as an unjust wait for those who fought for Kosovo’s independence.

Eliza Hoxha, a representative of ‘Liria ka Emër’, noted that the clock serves as a witness to the final hours, minutes, and seconds leading to the conclusion of the legal process. The platform aims to build momentum and express the desire of the Kosovar people to have these leaders return to their country.
