ÖWA July data shows shifts in Austrian digital media reach
Recent data from the Austrian Web Analysis (ÖWA) for July reveals shifting trends in the digital media landscape in Austria. ORF.at maintains a dominant position with over 5.7 million unique users. Among private offerings, Heute.at narrowly leads Krone in reach rankings.
A significant technical shift in measurement is highlighted by the introduction of Page Impressions as a key metric. Since early 2025, ÖWA has utilized a technical full survey of page contacts, allowing for more precise comparisons of engagement levels across different platforms. This metric provides a baseline for comparing technical contacts against user time and actual unique users.
Specific performance was noted for VOL. AT, which reported an average dwell time of 5 minutes and 13 seconds, an increase from the previous year. The platform recorded 57.3 million page views and 17.1 million visits in July, with 79 percent of access occurring via smartphones.
