ÖWA reports internet usage and media reach in Austria
Data from the Austrian Web Analysis (ÖWA) reveals significant internet usage trends in Austria throughout the first half of 2026. In the first quarter, 6.95 million Austrians—representing 95.9% of internet users aged 14 and older—utilized ÖWA-measured offerings. Mobile usage reached 88.8% of the target demographic, while desktop usage stood at 3.84 million users.
By the second quarter, 6.85 million users utilized these services, a reach of 94.5% of the internet-using population. Mobile usage remained high at 88.1%, while desktop usage was recorded at 3.54 million users.
Among umbrella offerings, the ORF.at Network led with 5,555,038 unique users and a 76.6% reach. Heute.at followed in second place with 3,579,090 unique users (49.4% reach), and krone.at ranked third with 3,531,423 unique users (48.7% reach). Other notable mentions in the top rankings include Cope, KurierOnline-Medien, and the oe24-Netzwerk.
