Wab Kinew delivers election-style speech at NDP gala in Brandon

Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew delivered a 21-minute speech during the NDP’s Westman Gala at the Keystone Centre in Brandon. Addressing a crowd of approximately 300 politicians, business leaders, and community members, Kinew adopted an election-style tone to highlight the momentum of his party’s candidates.

During the address, Kinew referenced the close results of a previous byelection in Spruce Woods, where NDP candidate Ray Berthelette lost to Progressive Conservative Colleen Robbins by only 70 votes. Kinew praised Berthelette for his performance in a historically conservative area and urged supporters to continue their efforts as the province approaches the next election, which must be held on or before October 5, 2027.
