Wacław Milewski, a 100-year-old Polish mechanic, continues working
Wacław Milewski, a resident of Poznań, Poland, has reached the age of 100 while remaining professionally active. Having started his career at age 14, Milewski established his own locksmith and mechanical workshop at the age of 19, a business that continues to operate today, producing machine parts and dies.
Beyond his mechanical expertise, Milewski was a former Polish motorcycle racing champion, winning the title in 1948. He eventually transitioned away from competitive racing in the 1950s to focus on his business and served as a local councilor in Poznań.
While declining eyesight has prevented him from riding motorcycles, he remains engaged in his work and continues to seek new knowledge. He has expressed a desire to eventually transform his long-standing workshop into a museum to preserve the history of his craft for future generations.
