Wacom and ugee announce new creative tablets for beginners and children
Wacom has announced the next generation of Wacom Intuos digital drawing tablets, specifically designed for beginners, students, and hobbyist creators. The new models feature the Wacom Lite Pen, which utilizes technology derived from the Pro Pen 3 platform. The Lite Pen offers 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity and tilt support to mimic traditional drawing tools, all without requiring a battery. The hardware includes interactive web tutorials to assist with the hand-eye coordination required for tablet use and comes with various creative software trials.
In a separate development, ugee has introduced the ArtPlay Pad, a creative tablet tailored for children and young creators. Unlike standard capacitive tablets, the ArtPlay Pad utilizes professional-grade EMR (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) technology to provide a paper-like drawing experience. The device features a 12-inch 2K eye-care display with anti-reflection coating and includes a workflow that integrates ibisPaint K with Tripo AI, allowing users to convert 2D sketches into 3D models. These models can be exported directly to ugee Funbox 3D printers.
