Władysław Łokietek and the unification of Poland featured in school lessons

Historian and librarian Marcin Salamon conducted educational sessions for primary school students in Michałowo and Stępocice regarding the unification of the Polish state.

The lessons focused on the efforts of Władysław Łokietek, who spent 45 years working to unite Polish lands into a single state entity, culminating in his coronation in 1320. The curriculum covered the period of regional fragmentation following 1138, the principle of seniority, and the subsequent foreign policy of his son, Casimir the Great, which expanded the nation's territory.

These educational activities were part of the VIII District Historical and Reading Competition, ‘Unification of the Polish State in the 14th Century,’ organized by the Pińczno branch of the Gustaw Herling-Grudziński Pedagogical Provincial Library in Kielce.
