Waffle House employee fired after viral rap video
Edric Riley, known by his stage name ‘Rockstar Riley’, has been fired from Waffle House after a rap video he filmed at work went viral. Riley, who had worked for the restaurant chain for 20 years, was terminated after reporting for his shift at a location in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
The video, which was filmed in the kitchen while Riley was in uniform, features him rapping about the restaurant—which he calls ‘The Waffy’—and its menu items. The footage, which appears to have been captured by a customer, shows staff and patrons reacting positively to the performance.
According to Riley, the termination followed previous warnings to stop posting social media content while wearing the company uniform. He stated he was let go because he continued to create videos featuring the restaurant and his attire. Despite the loss of his long-term position, Riley expressed interest in potentially working with the chain on an official commercial.
